(Manchester, NH) – In tonight's WMUR debate, John Sununu claimed to support closing the Enron loophole, which allows rampant speculation on energy markets – lining the pockets of Wall Street investment firms while driving up the cost of oil for families and small businesses. Tonight, John Sununu said, "closing the Enron loophole is fine with me."
"In fact, John Sununu voted to create the Enron loophole and then voted six times against closing it," said Kate Bedingfield, communications director for Jeanne Shaheen for Senate. "It may be fine with John Sununu, but New Hampshire families are not fine with having a Senator in Washington who says one thing on the campaign trail but does another in Congress."
